Villa Livadia is set in beautiful lush green natural surroundings close to several calm sandy or pebbled beaches, and in close proximity to many popular archaeological sites in Greece such as the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Mycenae, Ancient Thyrinth, Nemea (famous for its wines!) and Ancient Corinth, to name a few.
Kantia and beaches
The villa is located on the outskirts of the small village of Kantia. Kantia is a coastal settlement, distinguished for its traditional architecture & large, sandy, child friendly beaches with crystal clear waters, where you can enjoy a swim & a game of racket ball. The main tourist attraction of Kantia is the Turkish tower. On the hill of Kantia you can find a romantic chapel & the ruins of a small acropolis dated from the Mycanean era.
The village has a number of traditional taverns & cafeterias, a small supermarket, a bakery & a gasoline station, in fact everything you need to meet your daily needs.
The supermarket, bakery & gasoline station (AVIS) are open (the whole year 7 days a week)
There are several beach bars with sunbeds & umbrellas serving hot & cold snacks as well as alcoholic & non- alcoholic beverages.
We highly recommend you:
“ARODO” – café, beach bar, restaurant (the owners Family Tsavaras, the menu of this bar is enclosed in this guestbook)
“BARAKI” – beach bar (the owners Nikos and Marietta Iliadis)
And taverns:
“TSAVARAS” – (fresh fish) tavern on the beach (the owners Family Tsavaras).
“KOSTAS” – tavern on the beach
“FAGOPOTI” – traditional Greek tavern, which serves souvlaki, steaks
“KOROLIS” – tavern and bouche shop, which sells fresh meat, souvlaki, Greek salad, tzatiki
Around 10 minutes from the villa is a cheese factory where you can purchase freshly made Feta & Graviera cheese straight from the barrel! The factory (the owners Family Tsavaras) is open the whole year.
Taverns in Vivari
In Vivari, the village next to Kantia, located on the picturesque bay, are several good taverns and bars. Highly recommend the tavern “Mermaid” (the owners Family Diamantopoulos). Open from end of May till end October.
Nafplio Market
The fantastic outdoor market in Nafplio takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays (the whole year from 8.00 till 13.00) selling fresh local products such as fresh fish, fruit & vegetables – don’t miss the best local honey and olive oil!
Drepano Market
In Drepano, the village on the way to Nafplio from Kantia, the market is held on Tuesday (the whole year from 8.00 till 13.00)
